Trio de l'Île
ENERGY FLAIR VIRTUOSITY
These are the core elements that the Trio de l’Île promises its audience at every performance.
For two years in a row, the Trio de l’Île was nominated for the prestigious Prix Opus: In 2020, for a concert at the Chapelle Historique du Bon Pasteur: Ravel and Shostakovich and in 2021 for their first album: Babadjanian, Chebotaryan, Piazzolla. The recording which was recorded under the Divine Arts Label is distributed internationally by Naxos.
Recently, the Trio de l’Île was invited to perform at the Gala of the prestigious Canada Music Competition. In 2021, their performances took them throughout various halls in Quebec, among them the Bourgie Hall and the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada Hall in Montreal. Furthermore, the Trio is a strong believer in music education. And so, they offer concert-workshops in various musical schools across Montreal.
Founded in 2015, the Trio is composed of three Quebec-based musicians: Patil Harboyan (piano), Uliana Drugova (violin) and Dominique Beauséjour-Ostiguy (cello). Their initial encounter during a music competition, when they were still students, quickly led to a long-time artistic collaboration where they take on the most demanding of all musical challenges and offer passionate performances of the highest caliber.

Winner of the grand prize in the Prix d'Europe 2018 and listed among the « 30 Hot Canadian classical musicians under 30 », he is surrounded by music from an early age. First trained at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréaland then at the Faculté de musique de l’Université de Montréal, Dominique Beauséjour-Ostiguy plays, arranges, composes, and enjoys Rock music just as much as he does Classical music. Just as the other members of the trio, Dominique Beauséjour-Ostiguy is the recipient of various prizes, grants and numerous honours as a soloist and a chamber music player, such as first prizes at the Canadian Music Competition, at the Festival-Concours de musique de Sorel (chamber music category), the Peter Mendell Award (2017), chosen soloist of the Conservatoire de Montréal String Orchestra andSymphony Orchestra, as well as a participant of cello masterclasses and advanced training sessions under the direction of renowned cellists such as Alisa Weilerstein, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Hans Jørgen Jensen, Raphael Wallfisch, Philippe Muller, Antonio Meneses, and Emmanuelle Bertrand.

More recently, another project has come to light: this time, in collaboration with Marie-Pier Allard, BOA, a unique approach to progressive instrumental music. Practising and composing through early morning hours and throwing himself whole-heartedly into adventures, Dominique Beauséjour-Ostiguy stands out through the originality of his work.
